  • Many business owners still use their personal credit cards for business expenses. Today however, credit card companies have introduced cards that are especially created for business owners. In this article, let’s discuss the benefits of using business credit cards and why you should consider getting one.

A New Tool for Business Owners

Credit cards for small businesses are especially designed to meet the needs of the business. For instance, if you have a small enterprise, you may think that it’s not necessary to get a business credit card. But using a credit card for small business will enable you to separate your business funds from your personal funds.

If you own a bigger company, then you may acquire a corporate credit card instead. Unlike credit cards for small businesses, corporate credit cards are designed to match the larger demands of big companies or corporations.

Business Credit Card Companies and Offers

Credit card companies have great offers in store for their clients. Business owners are often bigger spenders than personal credit card holders so they are a very important market.

To encourage business owners to open an account, credit cards for small businesses introduced reward programs for their customers. By using business credit cards for purchases, small business entrepreneurs can get more from their spending. Incentives come in various forms such as cash back, merchandise, gift certificates, rebates and free travel.

There are also small business credit cards that offer the check payment feature. This is an indispensable feature if you want to make a purchase from a supplier who doesn’t accept credit card payment. The check payment option enables the entrepreneur to send a check payment that is linked to his/her business credit card account.

Small business credit cards are useful tools in building business credit history. By building up a separate credit history for the business, the entrepreneur is also building up a solid foundation for the company’s future. Thus, when it’s time to acquire a business loan for expansion projects, getting an approval would be easy.

Small business credit cards also provide tools for accounting and bookkeeping tasks. Monthly and yearly account reports are valuable references especially when it’s time to file for business taxes.

Yes I agree, personal credit should not be use for business expenses and purposes. You will have a difficulty in separating your bills and documents for bookkeeping. I’ve done that and never do it again.

      Thanks for the comment.
It is advice to have a separate account (personal and business) for easy work flow.
